The opening ceremony of the 2024 Korea Shenyang Activity Week was held in Seoul, South Korea on the 24th. The theme of this activity week is "Sharing Opportunities, Seeking Development Together, and Creating the Future Together", to jointly explore new ideas, measures, and opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between China and South Korea. The opening ceremony of the 2024 Korea Shenyang Activity Week and the global promotion of "Hello, Shenyang" (Seoul Station) kicked off in Seoul on the same day. Liaoning Provincial Party Secretary Hao Peng, former Secretary General of the United Nations Ban Ki moon, Chinese Ambassador to South Korea Xing Haiming, South Korean parliamentarians Pei Junying and Park Nai, Consul General of the Consulate General of South Korea in Shenyang Choi Hee dol, and President of the Korean Health Industry Revitalization Institute Che Chun do attended the ceremony. Hao Peng stated in his speech that over the past 30 years, Liaoning and South Korea have conducted extensive and in-depth cooperation in various fields such as economy and trade, culture, education, and talent cultivation. South Korea has become Liaoning's most important trade partner and one of the sources of foreign investment. In the future, Liaoning is willing to work together with various sectors of South Korea to strengthen cooperation in advanced equipment manufacturing, digital economy, technological innovation, green development, service trade, and other areas, and work together to achieve mutual success and write a new chapter of cooperation. Ban Ki moon stated that Shenyang has a stable industrial foundation, abundant resources, open economic policies, and a good business environment. South Korea has always attached great importance to economic and trade cooperation with Shenyang, Liaoning, and many representative Korean enterprises have achieved many results in Shenyang. I hope that through this event, the friendly cooperation between South Korea and China can take it to the next level. Xing Haiming delivered a speech saying that Liaoning and South Korea face each other across the sea, with a deep foundation of friendly cooperation. There is great potential in expanding opening up to the outside world and continuously deepening exchanges and cooperation with South Korea in various fields. Shenyang, as the provincial capital city of Liaoning, has always played a crucial role in cooperation with South Korea. I hope that through this South Korea Shenyang activity week, more South Korean enterprises can understand Shenyang, enter Shenyang, invest in Shenyang, and jointly explore new ideas, measures, and opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between China and South Korea. At the opening ceremony, relevant personnel from Liaoning Province and Shenyang City gave a special presentation on the investment and development situation of Liaoning Province and Shenyang City on site, and 33 key projects of China South Korea cooperation were signed on site. During the event period, a Shenyang specialty product exhibition will also be held. Representatives from 55 enterprises from Shenyang and the modern urban area of Shenyang focused on showcasing high-end equipment, biopharmaceuticals, new energy and materials, modern agriculture and food, cultural and tourism resources, and other fields. It is reported that this event week will last from the 23rd to the 27th. In addition to the Shenyang Special Commodity Exhibition, four special economic and trade activities will be held around key industries of China South Korea cooperation such as food, biopharmaceuticals and medical aesthetics, fashion culture, new energy, and energy conservation and environmental protection, as well as various activities such as cultural and tourism resource promotion and peer-to-peer investment promotion.
