The overall experience speed of fixed and mobile broadband networks in China has increased by more than 2.5 times within three years

2024-04-11

On April 10th, the Broadband Development Alliance released the 34th report on the status of China's broadband speed, which released the "end-to-end" broadband user experience speed for the fourth quarter of 2023 in China. The report shows that in the fourth quarter of 2023, the average download speed (user experience) of China's fixed broadband network reached 83.88 Mbit/s, an increase of 4.3% from the previous quarter and 12.18 Mbit/s from the same period last year, with an annual increase of 16.99%; The comprehensive average download rate (user experience) of China's mobile broadband users accessing the Internet using 4G and 5G networks reached 129.36Mbit/s, up 31.91% over the same period last year. Currently, China has built the world's largest and technologically advanced "dual gigabit" network infrastructure, achieving "gigabit connectivity in cities and counties, 5G connectivity in counties and villages, and broadband connectivity in villages and towns". Urban areas and towns with conditions have basically achieved "gigabit to home" fixed and mobile networks. The development of the "dual gigabit" network has brought the improvement of China's broadband network user experience to the "fast lane": China's fixed and mobile broadband network experience rate has increased by more than 2.5 times in three years, and the average experience rate of China's broadband network users when accessing Internet content has increased rapidly. At the same time, the report also released the experience rate of mobile broadband users of different network systems in China in the fourth quarter of 2023: the comprehensive average download rate of users accessing the Internet using 4G networks is 43.48Mbit/s, and the comprehensive average download rate of users accessing the Internet using 5G networks is 228.75Mbit/s. With the continuous development of China's mobile broadband network, the 4G and 5G network experiences of China's mobile broadband users continue to improve. (Lai Xin She)
