On the afternoon of April 9th, a seminar on the TV drama "Above the River" was held at the Supreme People's Court. Before the meeting, Zhang Jun, Secretary of the Party Group and President of the Supreme People's Court, met with the creators and representatives of the TV drama. Zhang Jun pointed out that good judicial themed film and television works should be close to the people and life, integrating legal, emotional, and rational elements, focusing on hot issues of common concern to the masses, and proposing legal thinking from the perspective of the rule of law and legal thinking. On April 5th, China's first environmental justice themed TV drama "Above the River" concluded its first round of broadcasting and achieved excellent ratings. The audience, mainstream media, and various sectors of society highly praised the drama's ideological, professional, and artistic qualities. At the seminar, Deng Xiuming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of the Supreme People's Court and Vice President in charge of daily work, congratulated the successful broadcast of the drama. Deng Xiuming stressed that in developing the film and television creation of the People's Court, we should adhere to the socialist spirit of the rule of law, focus on the central task of Chinese path to modernization, use the combination of strength and temperature, professionalism and closeness, meaningful and interesting case stories, clearly explain the underlying legal principles, multifaceted reasoning, and understanding of reason, and promote respect for law, law and law enforcement in the whole society. We must adhere to the people-centered creative orientation, give full play to the value leading role of judicial trials, focus on the theme of "fairness and efficiency" work, excavate materials at the grassroots level, demonstrate the new atmosphere of people's court reform and development, and achieve the effect of rule of law education that turns spring into rain and moistens things silently.
