On January 11th, the Supreme People's Procuratorate held the 2023 Party building and departmental work report and evaluation meeting. At the meeting, the party organization secretaries of 14 department level units, including the Office of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, the Political Department, the Second Procuratorate, the Fourth Procuratorate, the Fifth Procuratorate, the Seventh Procuratorate, the Legal Policy Research Office, the Case Management Office, the Procuratorate Supervision Bureau, the Party Committee of the organs, the Intellectual Property Procuratorate Office, the National Prosecutor's College, the China Prosecutorial Publishing House, and the Procuratorial Technology Information Research Center, successively reported their work. Party organization leaders from other department level units shall report their work in writing. Tong Jianming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and Executive Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, Liu Zhao, member of the Party Group and head of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Group of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the State Supervision Commission stationed at the Supreme People's Procuratorate, and Pan Yiqin, member of the Party Group and Director of the Political Department, respectively commented on the work reports of each unit. Party organizations in various departments of government agencies focus on strengthening their political and organizational functions, fully leveraging the political guidance, direction guidance, and work leadership role of party building work. They adhere to the principle of "handling every case with high quality and efficiency", and play a role as a fortress and exemplary party member in serving the overall situation, serving the people's judiciary, and assuming the rule of law. Party building work and procuratorial work have achieved positive results. Ying Yong emphasized that in the procuratorial system, the highest procuratorate is closest to the Party Central Committee and serves the Party Central Committee most directly. It is in the first line of practicing the "two safeguards" and the "first mile" of implementing the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee. The Party building of the highest procuratorial organs plays a leading and exemplary role in the national procuratorial organs. We must firmly establish the concept that it is our duty to do a good job in party building, and that failure to do so is incompetence, and failure to do so is dereliction of duty.
