The Malaysia East Coast Railway Track Project, undertaken by Chinese enterprises, has recently started. In response to this, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated at a regular press conference on the 14th that he hopes that cooperation in various fields between the two countries will continue to deepen and solidify, bringing more benefits to the people of both countries. According to reports, the launch ceremony of the track engineering project of Malaysia's East Coast Railway (MTR), undertaken by a Chinese company, was recently held in Kuantan, the capital of Pahang, Malaysia. Malaysia's Supreme Leader Abdullah officially launched the laying of the tracks for the Malaysia East Rail project at the ceremony. "Malaysia's East Coast Railway is a landmark project for the joint construction of the the Belt and Road between China and Malaysia, and it is also one of the largest single transportation infrastructure projects undertaken by Chinese enterprises overseas." Mao Ning said that the project is progressing smoothly, and the overall progress of the project has been more than half. After the completion of the project, it will fill the gap in the lack of railway connectivity between the east and west coasts of the Malay Peninsula, and improve the connectivity level of the areas along the line. Maoning said that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the "the Belt and Road" initiative and the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Malaysia. The joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" between China and Malaysia has formed a pattern that the eastern Malaysia China Kuantan Industrial Park, the "one park and one port" of Kuantan Port and the western Klang Port run through the "first line" of the eastern coast railway. "Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia. We look forward to the deepening and strengthening of cooperation in various fields between the two countries, bringing more benefits to the people of both countries," she said. (Lai Xin She)
