Ultra low orbit communication and tele integration Satellite constellation officially launched construction plan to launch the first satellite in December

2023-07-13

The construction plan of the ultra low orbit Satellite constellation integrated with communication and remote communication was officially launched. In December, the first satellite was launched to create an ultra low orbit constellation and its application system integrated with "sensing, transmission and computing". It is estimated that 192 satellites will be networked in orbit by 2027, and 300 satellites will be networked in orbit by 2030. On July 12, at the 9th China (International) Commercial Aerospace Summit Forum held in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation announced the official launch of the construction of ultra low orbit communication and remote integration Satellite constellation. The first satellite has completed the design and production of prototype products. It will carry optical remote sensing cameras, on-board intelligent processing equipment, atomic oxygen detectors and other payloads, and is scheduled to launch in December. According to the person in charge of the Space Engineering General Department of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, an ultra-low orbit refers to an orbit with an orbital height of less than 300 kilometers. Compared with the traditional orbit, the ultra-low orbit has a complex dynamic environment and needs to offset the impact of rapid decline of satellite orbital height due to higher atmospheric resistance. Although the long-term operation of the ultra-low orbit needs to face many technical challenges, it also contains ultra-high value. Due to the decline of the orbit height, the earth observation has changed from "remote sensing" to "close observation", which can achieve lower cost, higher observation resolution, shorter Transmission delay and other effects. The weight and cost of optical load under the same resolution can be reduced by about 50%. The ultra-low orbit Satellite constellation integrated with communication and remote communication aims to build an ultra-low orbit Satellite constellation and application system integrated with "sensing, transmission and computing". While realizing decimeter level accurate "perception" and minute level real-time "transmission", it also realizes space information direct access to user terminals through advanced on-board intelligent processing, satellite terminal direct connection and inter satellite communication. According to the construction plan issued by the General Space Engineering Department of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, the ultra low orbit Satellite constellation will be implemented in three stages in accordance with the principle of overall planning, step-by-step implementation and gradual improvement. It is planned to complete the first satellite launch of the ultra low orbit Satellite constellation in 2023, complete the launch of nine star business verification cluster in 2024, complete the online networking of 192 stars in 2027, and complete the online networking of 300 stars in 2030, Develop a global 15 minute response capability to boost the development of the space economy.
