2022-12-30

The Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Online Drug Sales were formally implemented to ensure the safety of online drug purchases (the focus of health). The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed that "ensuring people's health is a strategic priority for development, and improving people's health promotion policies." Drug safety is closely related to people's health. In recent years, more and more people choose to purchase drugs online, and the online drug sales industry has witnessed rapid development, but there are also individual violations, increasing the risk of drug use. What convenience does the Measures for the Supervision and Administration of Online Drug Sales, implemented on December 1, bring to people's purchase of drugs? How to ensure the safety of online drug purchase? Recently, the reporter conducted a survey and interview. To improve the drug purchasing experience, drug sales enterprises have embraced the Internet, further meeting people's demand for drugs. Ms. Tian, who lives in Yixian County, Anhui Province, was plagued by alopecia areata in the past. After her diagnosis and treatment in a large hospital, the doctor recommended an over-the-counter drug for alopecia areata. After taking medicine, her symptoms of alopecia areata improved, but affected by the epidemic, she could not continue to go to the hospital to get medicine. "It's very convenient to place an order by mobile phone and deliver it home by express." Ms. Tian found the same drug in the medical and health care area of the third-party mobile platform with the suggestion of her friend. A few days after placing the order, she received the medicine and successfully used it. "Now, I and my family buy common drugs online," Ms. Tian said. In addition to over-the-counter drugs, some people are still making further visits online and buying prescription drugs. "Hello, doctor, how about my blood pressure control recently? Do you want to adjust medication?" Aunt Yan, 59, who lives in Chaoyang District, Beijing, is suffering from hypertension and needs to take medication for a long time. Affected by the epidemic recently, it is not convenient to go to the hospital to get medicine. Seeing that there are few medicines left at home, I am worried. With the help of her daughter, she used her mobile phone to make an appointment with a cardiovascular physician from a top three hospital in an Internet hospital. After carefully reviewing Aunt Yan's past diagnosis and medication records, the doctor made a follow-up visit and explained the correct use of the drug in detail. Considering Aunt Yan's life at home, the doctor also provided suggestions on diet allocation, exercise, attitude maintenance, etc. After the return visit, Aunt Yan used her mobile phone to place an order for the prescription medicine issued by the doctor in the online pharmacy, and received the express delivery the next day. "You can go to see a doctor and get medicine without leaving home, so don't worry about having no medicine at home!" said Aunt Yan. The convenience of online drug purchase by patients benefits from the rapid development of online drug sales industry. According to the data released by the Southern Institute of Pharmaceutical Economics of the State Food and Drug Administration, in 2021, the sales scale of online pharmacies in China will reach 218 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 36.8%. It is estimated that the annual sales in 2022 will be 289.9 billion yuan, with a growth rate of 32%. According to the sales data of more than 200 pharmacies on Tmall and JD platforms, from January to July 2022, the sales of online prescription drugs reached 14.47 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 48.9%. Online drug sales have effectively improved the convenience of drug purchase for the masses. Shao Rong, Executive Dean of the Institute of Pharmaceutical Regulatory Sciences of China Pharmaceutical University, said that the Internet has a strong information integration capability, breaking through the physical space constraints. In recent years, the rapid development of e-commerce has enabled people to form a "online order, express home"
