Recently, Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center has witnessed a vibrant scene in the large scientific device concentration area, and the construction of key system integrated research facilities (CRAFT) for fusion reactor host (also known as "artificial sun"), a major national science and technology infrastructure during the 13th Five Year Plan, is in full swing. At present, more than 100 key milestone construction tasks and the design, pre research and test verification of core components have been completed, and the development, field integration and commissioning of some key components have entered from the laboratory R&D and testing stage of the subsystem. In the No. 11 scientific research plant in the fusion reactor park, an experimental platform with a height of 20 meters and an appearance similar to "orange petals" has been basically completed, which is the 1/8 vacuum chamber and the overall installation experimental platform of CRAFT facilities. "The 1/8 vacuum chamber prototype platform has formed more than 40 patented technologies in the development process, developed and mastered key technologies such as precision forming, flexible automatic welding, phased array ultrasonic nondestructive testing and large field laser collimation measurement in the construction process of the fusion reactor vacuum chamber, and provided a full-size installation simulation platform for the remote operation system." The project leader, researcher Liu Zhihong, is leading the team in the final assembly of components. It is estimated that the 1/8 vacuum chamber and the overall installation experimental platform will be put into use early next year. In the constant temperature clean workshop of No. 8 scientific research workshop in the fusion reactor park, the circumferential field coil winding production line has just been completed. The production line is mainly composed of conductor delivery system, conductor straightening system, online ultrasonic cleaning system, conductor sand blasting and cleaning system, conductor continuous bending machine, coil winding rotary platform and other equipment under the linkage control of automatic control system to carry out the manufacturing verification of fusion reactor level full-size D-shaped coils. This toroidal field coil is composed of the world's first high, medium and low field sub coils stacked and packaged. The strict requirements that the coil profile and flatness after winding do not exceed 1.5mm make the winding work very difficult. "We use tension free winding technology to continuously and precisely wind the superconducting conductor with a section of 64mm by 64mm." said the researcher in charge of the project, Wen Wenwei, The 900 meter long full-size conductor used for the winding of the first certified part has also been put in place, and the coil winding process verification will be carried out soon, laying a mature technology and process foundation for the subsequent work. North Hall 13 of the fusion reactor park is the location of the research platform for the interaction between plasma and materials of the diverter. Here, a linear plasma device with the highest parameter level in the world and its auxiliary system will be built, which can generate the steady-state large beam isolators that the fusion reactor diverter must bear, and promote the research and development of plasma facing components. The project leader, researcher Zhou Haishan, has led the team to complete the physical and engineering design of the platform. "We have obtained a new record of the beam density plasma of the diverter target plate running continuously for 24 hours on the test platform, and verified the stability of key components.
