They "dissected" the missiles bit by bit, and assigned each section for research according to its specialty. "Everyone is very enthusiastic. They take the initiative to work overtime without waiting for their superiors to assign tasks." On November 5, 1960, the "1059" was successfully launched, and China's own missile flew up on the horizon for the first time. In March 1962, the test flight of "Dongfeng II" failed, which was the first major setback for China's aerospace industry since its start of self-reliance. Wei Qiyong, the former director of Room 10 of the General Design Department, has never forgotten the feeling of heartache. Everyone has been engaged in design improvement and actively prepared for go around. Astronauts never fear setbacks. They summarize the experience and lessons of failure and propose a scientific research management system that "everything passes the overall test and everything passes the ground test". These "two things" have been passed down to this day, becoming a valuable asset of China Aerospace, and playing an important role in the development of subsequent model products. Two years later, the "combination of two bombs" was a complete success, and China became the fifth country in the world to launch nuclear weapons with its own missiles.
