China Air Force Yun-20 went to South Korea to welcome the remains of the ninth group of volunteer martyrs in South Korea

2022-09-16

The ninth batch of Chinese People's Volunteer Army martyrs in South Korea will be buried from September 14 to 17. On the morning of the 14th, a Y-20 aircraft of the Air Force took off from an airport in North China to meet the remains of the ninth group of volunteers in South Korea. Since 2014, China has welcomed 825 martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers in South Korea to return for burial for eight consecutive years. Since 2015, the Air Force has sent planes to South Korea every year to carry out reception missions. In 2020 and 2021, the Air Force will send Y-20, a large domestic transport aircraft, to carry out this task. In all previous missions to welcome the remains of martyrs in the Korean Volunteer Army, the crew members demonstrated the image of the People's Air Force in the new era with first-class technology and excellent style. Meng Yang, a Y-20 pilot, is performing the reception task for the second time. When he was interviewed by Xinhua News Agency, he said that he would use accurate and perfect flight to safely and stably pick up the heroes. Senior Colonel Shen Jinke, spokesman of the Air Force, said that when the remains of volunteer martyrs returned to China on September 16, the J-20 would escort the Y-20 in China's airspace. At that time, the Air Force will use the "Double 20" array to comfort the revolutionary martyrs. (Liu Xinshe)
