Procuratorial organs have prosecuted 5011 animal and plant related crimes and 6461 people in more than three years. This press conference is one of the press conferences of "COP15 Spring City invitation" series on biodiversity conservation in Yunnan. Zhang Yaogui, Party Secretary of the environmental food and Drug Investigation Corps of the Public Security Department of Yunnan Province, introduced that the task of species protection in Yunnan Province is arduous. In recent years, the provincial public security organs have organized and carried out a series of special actions to crack down on crimes against wildlife resources, focusing on illegal hunting, trafficking, operation and processing of wildlife. Since 2018, 6416 criminal cases involving wildlife have been detected, 5129 suspects have been arrested, and 25933 live and dead wildlife and 31015 products have been confiscated. Shi Jianbang, deputy Procurator General of Yunnan Provincial People's Procuratorate, said that from 2018 to August this year, the procuratorial organs of the province approved and arrested 1498 criminal cases of damaging environmental and resource protection, 2172 people, and prosecuted 7329 9920 people, including smuggling of precious animals, precious animal products, illegal logging, illegal hunting, acquisition, transportation There were 5011 criminal cases involving animals and plants, such as the sale of terrestrial wild animals, and 6461 people. Li Zhiming, Deputy Secretary General of the Standing Committee of Yunnan Provincial People's Congress, introduced that the detailed rules for the implementation of the regulations on promoting the establishment of ecological civilization in Yunnan Province have been printed and issued and will go into effect on October 1.
