Accelerating the pace of energy transformation, China's installed capacity of wind and solar power exceeds 1.1 billion kilowatts

2024-04-24

In the northern plateau of Xizang, the 100 MW wind power project in Naqu Oumatinga, Tibet, has full capacity and can provide about 200 million kilowatt hours of clean power every year; At the northern foot of the Tianshan Mountains, Xinjiang Huadian's 6.1 million kilowatt new energy base has started construction, covering a total area of about 990 square kilometers. Multiple types of energy such as solar energy, solar heat, and thermal power complement each other for power generation... Since the beginning of this year, China's energy transformation pace has accelerated. According to data released by the National Energy Administration on the 22nd, as of the end of March, the cumulative installed power generation capacity in China was about 2.99 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 14.5%. Among them, the installed capacity of solar power generation is about 660 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 55%; The installed capacity of wind power is about 460 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 21.5%. After continuously exceeding 800 million, 900 million, and 1 billion kilowatts in 2023, the installed capacity of wind and solar power in China has recently exceeded 1.1 billion kilowatts, accounting for about 37.3% of the national installed capacity. The trend of green and low-carbon development in electricity installation continues. In the first quarter, the country added 69.43 million kilowatts of installed power generation capacity, an increase of 13.42 million kilowatts in production compared to the same period last year. Among them, hydropower is 1.81 million kilowatts, thermal power is 6.39 million kilowatts, wind power is 15.5 million kilowatts, and solar power is 45.74 million kilowatts. According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first quarter, the power generation of industrial enterprises above designated size reached 2.2 trillion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 6.7%. Among them, thermal power generation reached 1.6 trillion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%; Clean energy sources such as hydropower, nuclear power, wind power, and solar power generated 0.6 trillion kilowatt hours of electricity, a year-on-year increase of 6.9%.
