International Youth Anastasia Shpironok: China is Full of New Development Opportunities

2024-04-24

Anastasia Shpironok comes from Ukraine and is currently studying political science and English linguistics at the University of Basel in Switzerland. She is passionate about participating in global work and has her own unique insights into international issues. At present, she is also a member of the board of directors of the Model United Nations (MUN) at the University of Basel, organizing multiple discussion meetings closely related to current hot topics and the fate of humanity. At the beginning of 2024, Anastasia participated in the World Economic Forum held in Switzerland and gave a brilliant speech at the open forum. Anna Giada D'Angelo, international correspondent for Outlook New Era magazine, invited Anastasia for an online conversation after reporting on the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. Reporter: Could you please introduce yourself? Anastasiia: I was born in Ukraine and am currently studying at the University of Basel. Prior to this, I studied International Economics at Lviv State Franke University in Ukraine. I am very interested in global issues and economic development issues, and I will also participate in youth international organizations to accumulate relevant experience. Anastasiia participating in United Nations events: How do you think Ukraine's cultural background has influenced your participation in international organizations or events? Anastasiia: I have worked at the Student Council of Lviv State Franke University in Ukraine, which led to my joining of the Kapri Foundation and the opportunity to participate in the World Economic Forum. Kapri is a foundation jointly established by the University of Zurich in Switzerland and Kiev State University in Ukraine, recruiting young people from different cultural backgrounds or working in student organizations. As a result, I studied at the University of Zurich as an exchange student for one year. In the future, I will choose to return to Ukraine, rebuild my country, and build new cities. Ukraine now needs new political science, new economy, and everything new. Reporter: You have participated in the World Economic Forum three times. Can you share your personal feelings? Anastasia: In 2022, I participated in the World Economic Forum for the first time, which was my most unforgettable experience. After the epidemic, the forum reopened after being suspended for two years, welcoming numerous politicians, experts, and entrepreneurs from different fields. At the venue, I met the then President of Switzerland, Iniazio Cassis. The issue of Ukraine and Russia was one of the hot topics at that time. President Iniazio stated that Switzerland maintains neutrality in all political and diplomatic fields, but they are willing to lend a helping hand, accept refugees, help Ukrainian people who have lost their homes and no shelter, and provide convenience for their lives in Switzerland. This speech left a deep impression on me and has not been forgotten to this day. Anastasia participates in the 2022 World Economic Forum. Reporter: What was the unforgettable experience left by the 2024 World Economic Forum for you? Anastasia: I think this year's experience at the forum is very unforgettable because leaders, experts, and entrepreneurs from various fields such as politics and economy around the world are here to discuss international affairs. This year, there are many people from the sand
