The Survey Report on Chinese Patents in 2023 recently released by the China National Intellectual Property Administration shows that in 2023, the industrialization rate of China's invention patents will reach 39.6%, an increase of 2.9 percentage points over the previous year, and steadily increase for five consecutive years. As the main body of innovation, the industrialization rate of invention patents in Chinese enterprises has reached 51.3%, an increase of 3.2 percentage points from the previous year. Among them, the industrialization rates of invention patents for small and micro enterprises reached 53.9% and 33.8% respectively, an increase of 8.6 and 11.8 percentage points compared to the previous year. The industrialization income of invention patents is steadily increasing. In 2023, the average income from industrial invention patents achieved by enterprises reached 8.296 million yuan/piece, an increase of 3.8% compared to the previous year; The average income from the industrialization of invention patents used for independent brand products reached 10.671 million yuan per piece, indicating a more prominent comprehensive application of patents and brands. Industry university research cooperation effectively enhances the effectiveness of patent conversion. In 2023, the average industrialization income of China's enterprise industry university research and development patents (including invention patents of enterprises, universities or research institutions) reached 10.332 million yuan/piece, which is 24.5% higher than the average industrialization income of enterprise invention patents. The proportion of enterprises solving key technology or core component research problems through industry university research cooperation is the highest, reaching 56.1%, indicating that industry university research cooperation plays an important role in key core technology research and innovation is significant.
