To further facilitate the two-way travel of residents in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, starting from April 6th, Shenzhen Railway will add four cross-border high-speed trains to and from West Kowloon, Hong Kong every Saturday. After adjustment, the number of Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong cross-border high-speed trains operating every Saturday will increase from 188 to 192. According to statistics, from March 29th to April 7th, the number of cross-border passengers traveling between Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong on the high-speed rail to and from West Kowloon reached 671000. The peak of cross-border railway passenger flow occurred on March 29th (the first day of Hong Kong public holidays), with 84000 cross-border passengers traveling back and forth, including nearly 70000 departing passengers. The trend of Hong Kong people coming to Shenzhen for tourism and consumption is obvious. During the just concluded Qingming Festival railway transportation period, Wu Huijuan, Secretary of the Party Branch of Futian Station, stated that Futian Station has 121 cross-border high-speed trains traveling to and from West Kowloon, Hong Kong every day. On the day of Qingming Festival, the number of passengers sent reached a new high in nearly 5 years, reaching 24000, of which 17000 were cross-border passengers to West Kowloon Station, exceeding 70%.
