The Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Cambodia Economic Cooperation and Development Forum was held in Phnom Penh

Cai Guanshen, Chairman of the China Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance and President of the Hong Kong China General Chamber of Commerce, stated in Phnom Penh on the 9th that the Greater Bay Area is committed to high-quality development, pursuing sustainable growth and inclusive prosperity. With the continuous expansion of cooperation between the Greater Bay Area and the ASEAN region, new development opportunities have extended to Cambodia, and all parties have ushered in a comprehensive space for cooperation. From the 6th to the 10th of this month, Cai Guanshen led a delegation of over 70 entrepreneurs to visit Cambodia. This is the largest foreign delegation welcomed by the new Cambodian government since its establishment. This visit aims to build an effective platform for close cooperation between the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and the Cambodian business community, deepen exchanges, mutual learning, and integrated development in multiple fields such as finance, technology, industry, and innovation, and promote positive results in investment cooperation between Chinese enterprises in Cambodia. On April 9th, the Hong Kong Chinese Chamber of Commerce, the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Entrepreneurs Alliance, and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Bangkok jointly held the "Innovation driven, Complementary Advantages" Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Cambodia Economic Cooperation and Development Forum. Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Development Council, Sun Zhantuo, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, Wang Wentian, Cambodian Minister of Industry and Technology Innovation, Han Wandi, and Cambodian State Secretary of Commerce, Liu Qiaoling, attended the event. Cai Guanshen stated in his speech that he led more than 70 entrepreneurs from the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area to visit Cambodia this time, visiting Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manai and officials from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Technology Innovation of Cambodia, to deeply explore the feasibility of promoting the implementation of various projects. The members of the inspection team were deeply impressed by the pragmatic efforts made by the Cambodian government to promote economic prosperity and development, and expressed optimism and expectations for investing and expanding their careers in this hot land in the future. Sun Zhantuo introduced the investment environment in Cambodia to the attending guests and pointed out that Cambodia is the center of the Greater Mekong River region and a part of RCEP. Benefiting from numerous policy dividends, investing in Cambodia can export goods and services to global markets. In recent years, the authorities have invested a large amount of funds to continuously upgrade and improve infrastructure, with abundant labor resources and high professional qualities. The role of the government is to help entrepreneurs succeed in investing in Cambodia more easily. Zhou Zhancheng, Acting Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Bangkok, welcomes Cambodian companies to use Hong Kong as a platform for expansion in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and overseas. In his speech, he stated that as an international financial center, Hong Kong is a good place to seek funding and go public. Hong Kong is eager to share our experience in creating a favorable environment for the development of startups with Cambodia and GBA. In the special Q&A session set up at the event on that day, Sun Zhantuo gave a presentation on Cambodia's labor supply, taxation, power supply system support, clean energy, and professions, which were raised by representatives of attending entrepreneurs.
