Yesterday, the launch ceremony of the 2024 Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area "The Connection of the Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang Aesthetics and the World" large-scale digital exhibition was held in Shenzhen. The event is hosted by the Dunhuang Research Institute and the China Dunhuang Grottoes Protection and Research Foundation, and organized by the Dunhuang Chinese Heritage Special Fund and Jingwan Digital Culture Technology Co., Ltd. The aim is to promote the inheritance and development of excellent Chinese culture, promote cultural exchange and integration between Dunhuang and the Greater Bay Area, and tell the story of millennium civilization in a digital way. At the launch ceremony, Su Bomin, the president of the Dunhuang Research Institute, said that the Mogao Grottoes of Dunhuang are famous in the world for their diverse, world wide, time-space transcending and enduring charm. They deserve to become a world cultural heritage and a representative of the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation. "For many years, the Dunhuang Research Institute has adhered to the use of technological means to protect the Dunhuang Grottoes, showcasing the profound cultural heritage of Dunhuang through the deep integration of technology and cultural heritage. The exhibits in this exhibition fully preserve the information of Dunhuang Grottoes art, allowing viewers to experience the connection between Dunhuang aesthetics and the world while getting up close to the original Dunhuang art, and further appreciate the charm of excellent traditional Chinese culture." The large-scale digital exhibition "The Connection between Dunhuang Aesthetics and the World" will be held from September 22nd to November 22nd at the Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning. At that time, the event will use modern digital technology to replicate technology and bring over a hundred classic Dunhuang grotto art works, from the Western Xia Water Moon Guanyin, the only Qianshou Guanyin in Chinese mural history, to four physical digital grottoes. The exhibition will truly reproduce the charm of Dunhuang art and present a feast of excellent traditional Chinese culture to the audience in the Greater Bay Area. This exhibition is a public welfare exhibition and is open to the public for free. As a supporting activity of the exhibition, the "Connection between Chinese Local Drama and Mogao Grottoes" will also be held at the same time.
