On March 31st, Shunde Port in Foshan celebrated its one-year anniversary of resuming operations. On April 2nd, the reporter learned from Foshan Customs that according to statistics, over 154000 passengers have entered and exited from Shunde Port in the past year, with a total of more than 1560 flights operated. The peak number of inbound and outbound passengers in a single day reached 1428. At present, Shunde Port is the only water transportation terminal in Foshan City that leads to Hong Kong. In the 36 years since its operation, it has become an important mode of transportation for surrounding residents to travel to Hong Kong. To support Shunde Port in quickly integrating into the transportation network of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, Foshan Customs actively supports Shunde Port in optimizing routes, increasing flights based on passenger flow, and providing more convenient and comfortable services for citizens to travel. Ms. Chen from Shunde told reporters, "It has been 20 years since I took a ship to Shunde Port. Taking a ship to Hong Kong is both convenient and comfortable, and the speed of entry and exit customs clearance is also very fast." From March 29th to May 6th, the number of round-trip flights per day increased from 4 to 8. It is reported that the passenger flow of Shunde Port has steadily increased after resuming flights, and there will be obvious peak passenger flow during holidays. For example, during last year's "National Day" holiday, many flights were difficult to obtain one ticket. During this year's Spring Festival, Shunde Port opened an additional 140 flights to meet the travel needs of passengers. In addition, to meet the peak of inbound and outbound visits and tourism for tourists from the end of March to early May, Shunde Port increased its daily round-trip flights from 4 to 8 from March 29 to May 6. In order to ensure the orderly clearance of passengers at Shunde Port, the Foshan Customs Office in Shunde has strengthened the coordination of on-site human resources, established a dedicated consultation desk, and provided consultation services for inbound and outbound passengers. Various forms of customs supervision regulations on luggage are explained to passengers, and intelligent supervision and inspection equipment such as infrared temperature monitors, X-ray machines, and millimeter wave detectors are comprehensively used to provide passengers with a safe and efficient "seamless" clearance environment, ensuring efficient and convenient clearance. At the same time, the customs strictly implements the responsibility of "guarding the country's borders". Over the past year, more than 70 passengers with abnormal conditions have been found among customs clearance passengers, and more than 400 prohibited and restricted items have been seized, building a strong national security barrier for people's health and ecological environment. Next, Foshan Customs will actively promote "smart customs" projects such as smart health inspection and smart travel inspection, create a better port clearance environment, and help Shunde Port become a new window for cross-border passenger exchanges and economic, trade and cultural exchanges.
