The company has decided to recall three products containing relevant ingredients. This once again serves as a warning to consumers not to blindly believe in overseas "internet celebrity drugs" and to pay attention to the safety risks of overseas health products or drugs. In recent years, more and more people have been paying attention to health preservation, and the market for related health products and drugs has continued to grow. At the same time, under the promotion of some e-commerce platforms, internet celebrities, and acquaintances, some consumers feel that the foreign food and drug regulatory system is more stringent, and they trust the health products and drugs purchased from overseas more. But the security risks of purchasing and using overseas products on your own are not small. Whether it is health products or drugs, there are certain requirements for storage, transportation, and preservation conditions. However, overseas products often require cross-border transportation, which takes a long time for ordinary logistics and express delivery to meet the relevant conditions. During this process, it is often difficult to detect the deterioration of health products and drugs. In addition, overseas Taobao products generally do not have Chinese instruction manuals. Due to language barriers, many consumers may not understand key information such as ingredients, usage taboos, dosage, and precautions. They may use it improperly based solely on the introduction of relevant platform customer service. In fact, compared to domestically produced health products and drugs, many overseas health products and drugs do not have any special or innovative ingredients. Many domestic health products and drugs with the same ingredients and effects have exceeded international standards in terms of stability and safety, so there is no need to search for overseas products. It is worth noting that many overseas "internet celebrity miracle medicines" also contain high-risk ingredients, which are prohibited from being sold through legitimate channels in China. Once products imported through informal channels encounter problems, consumers will face difficulties in protecting their rights and being unable to trace and hold accountable. Of course, there are also some imported health products and drugs that have a good reputation and effectiveness abroad, but whether they are suitable for the Chinese human body is still unknown. At present, health products and drugs entering the domestic market through official channels are subject to strict supervision by the national drug regulatory authorities, and adverse reactions are regularly monitored. If problems are found, unqualified products need to be recalled. As consumers, we should cultivate a consumption concept that is not superstitious or blindly following, and adhere to rational consumption based on individual actual needs. Relevant departments should strengthen the management of cross-border e-commerce platforms, guide platform enterprises to fulfill their main responsibilities, and choose legitimate brand authorization channels for cross-border goods, especially cross-border health products and drugs, to ensure that goods meet national quality and safety standards. E-commerce platforms should promote cross-border health products and drugs truthfully and completely, without exaggerating their effectiveness or giving consumers unreasonable expectations.
