The world's first hydrogen energy city train has completed a full load operation test

On the morning of the 21st, the world's first hydrogen energy city train conducted a full load operation test at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour on the CRRC Changke Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CRRC Changke") test line. During the day's test, a train running at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour had an actual average energy consumption of only 5 kilowatt hours per kilometer, with a maximum range of over 1000 kilometers. This is the first time on a global scale that a hydrogen energy train with a speed of 160 kilometers per hour has achieved full system, full scenario, and multi-level performance verification. It is reported that hydrogen powered urban transportation has advantages such as clean environmental protection, simple operation and maintenance, short construction period, and low fixed investment. It has the characteristics of high speed, large capacity, fast boarding and alighting, and safety intelligence. The train was independently developed by CRRC Changke and officially rolled off the production line in December 2022. The car is equipped with a hydrogen power system, which applies a distributed hybrid energy supply scheme with multiple energy storage and hydrogen energy systems. At the same time, it adopts a hydrogen electric hybrid energy management strategy and control system independently developed by CRRC Changke. "On the basis of completing the durability, high and low temperature, vibration, electromagnetic compatibility, fire safety and other aspects of the hydrogen power system and its key components for hydrogen energy city trains, we further conducted whole vehicle tests on energy consumption, range, reliability, traction, braking, dynamics and other aspects at different speed levels." Wang Jian, Deputy Director of the New Technology Research Department of CRRC Changke National Rail Transit Engineering Research Center, introduced that the actual performance of hydrogen energy trains in ambient temperatures of -25 ℃ to 35 ℃ was also verified for the first time. The test results showed that all indicators met the vehicle design requirements, and the vehicle performance indicators reached the international leading level. Industry insiders introduce that the high-quality completion of hydrogen energy urban train testing work is an important milestone in China's rail transit industry and the research and application of hydrogen energy technology, which will further promote the independent and controllable realization of key technologies in high-end transportation equipment.
