The preparatory committee for the visit of "Xuelong 2" to Hong Kong held a press conference on the 16th, revealing that China's first independently built polar scientific research icebreaker, "Xuelong 2", will arrive in Hong Kong on April 8th for a continuous 5-day visit. The Chairman of the Executive Committee of the "Xuelong 2" Visit to Hong Kong, He Jianzong, stated that the country attaches great importance to the "Xuelong 2" visit activities. In addition to Zhang Beichen, the leader and chief scientist of the 40th Chinese Antarctic Expedition, and Xiao Zhimin, the captain of the "Xuelong 2", there are also many top polar scientists and university professors from the country. It is reported that "Xuelong 2" will be open to the public for boarding and visiting from April 9th to 12th, and a series of activities will be held. The "Xuelong 2" polar research icebreaker is the fourth polar research ship in China, following the "Xiangyanghong 10", "Polar" and "Xuelong". It has a total length of 122.5 meters, a displacement of nearly 14000 tons, a total installed power of 23.2 megawatts, and a capacity of 101 people. Recently, the "Xuelong 2" spacecraft, which was carrying out China's 40th Antarctic exploration mission, loaded its exploration team members at the Qinling Station in Antarctica and set off to return to China.
