Along with the companies that settled in 2023, they will invest over HKD 40 billion in Hong Kong, creating over 13000 job opportunities, most of which are in research and management positions. Chen Maobo said that these key enterprises will help relevant upstream, midstream, and downstream enterprises gather in Hong Kong, promoting the vigorous development of the entire innovation and technology ecosystem. Chen Maobo also stated that with the continuous transformation of the international trade pattern, the traditional European and American markets are still important in Hong Kong's goods exports, but their proportion has significantly decreased; The proportion of exports to ASEAN increased from 6.1% in 2003 to 7.9% last year, becoming Hong Kong's second largest export market after the mainland; The proportion of exports to the Middle East has also risen to 3.3%.
