The fourth cross sea bridge from the Macau Peninsula to Taipa successfully completed the full bridge closure on the evening of the 12th, marking the project's transition from the main structural engineering to the bridge ancillary structural engineering. The bridge starts from the east side of Zone A in Macau New City, connects with the artificial island at the port of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macau Bridge, crosses the Outer Harbor Waterway and Macau Waterway, and reaches Zone E1 in Macau New City. The main line of the bridge is 3.085 kilometers long, of which the cross sea section is about 2.9 kilometers long. Two navigable span bridges are set up, with a span of 280 meters. The main line of the bridge is designed with eight lanes in both directions, and the middle two lanes are dedicated lanes for electric bicycles. At the same time, the bridge deck is equipped with reserved high-voltage cables, gas, tap water, reclaimed water, fire protection, telecommunications and other pipeline channels, which are key infrastructure to promote the development of Zone A and Zone E. After the opening of this bridge, it will effectively alleviate the traffic pressure of the existing three bridges, improve the traffic capacity between the Macau Peninsula and Taipa, Coloane, and cooperate with the transportation needs of the development of the new city's reclamation area A. The successful completion of the closure laid a solid foundation for the subsequent processes of the project. In addition, the supporting engineering of the bridge's landing points at various locations will be fully completed by the first quarter of this year, making full preparations for its opening.
