In order to further promote the comprehensive implementation of the "Comprehensive Prevention and Control of Myopia in Children and Adolescents Implementation Plan" in various regions, primary and secondary schools, and kindergartens, create a publicity and education atmosphere for myopia prevention and control, improve the level of eye health knowledge, and work together to improve the quality and efficiency of myopia prevention and control in children and adolescents, and achieve a faster decline in myopia rates among children and adolescents across the country and regions, the Ministry of Education, the National Health Commission, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention jointly issued a notice, deciding to hold the 8th National Myopia Prevention and Control Propaganda Education Month in March 2024 with the theme of "effectively reducing myopia occurrence and jointly safeguarding a bright future". Notify to make six deployments. One is to promote the "Six Ones" pilot program for myopia prevention and control. The second is to ensure normal activities for primary and secondary school students during breaks. During each break in primary and secondary schools, students should be arranged to walk out of the classroom and relax appropriately. A 30 minute break in physical activity should be arranged every day to allow students more time to engage in outdoor activities and have a long view, relieving visual fatigue. The third is to carry out in-depth publicity and education on myopia prevention and control. Education, health, and disease control departments in various regions strengthen the integration of medical education, collaborate with medical schools, organize myopia prevention and control lecture groups, ophthalmology and children's eye health experts, conduct myopia prevention and control and vision health education activities and ophthalmic free clinics in primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, and communities, vigorously promote scientific methods for preventing and controlling myopia and the harm of high myopia, help children develop good eye habits, support and guide medical institutions to assist schools in strengthening student vision examinations and counseling guidance, guide students with poor eyesight to correct them in a timely manner, and achieve early prevention, early detection, early intervention, and early correction of myopia. The fourth is to carry out vision monitoring for primary and secondary school students. During the publicity and education month, primary and secondary schools will conduct one vision monitoring, focusing on the changes in vision of primary and secondary school students after returning to school during winter vacation, and promptly provide feedback on the results of vision monitoring to students and parents. The fifth is to severely crack down on illegal activities in the marketing process. Market supervision departments in various regions have strengthened the metrological supervision of eyeglass production sites, carried out in-depth law enforcement on the quality of myopia prevention and control related products, increased efforts to crack down on illegal activities such as false advertising related to myopia prevention and control, strictly investigated and dealt with all kinds of illegal activities, and strictly investigated and dealt with misleading marketing and publicity activities of myopia prevention and control products for children and adolescents in accordance with the law.
