The Ministry of Finance will issue 12 billion yuan of treasury bond in Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority announced on the 7th that the Ministry of Finance will issue RMB treasury bond through the central clearing system of the HKMA's debt instruments, with a total size of 12 billion yuan, divided into four years. This issue is the first issue of RMB treasury bond in 2024, including RMB 3 billion of two-year treasury bond, RMB 3 billion of three-year treasury bond, RMB 3 billion of five-year treasury bond and RMB 3 billion of 10-year treasury bond, which will be tendered on March 13 and settled on March 15. By 2023, the Ministry of Finance has issued sovereign bonds in Hong Kong for 15 consecutive years, with a total of 311 billion yuan of treasury bond issued, of which 50 billion yuan of treasury bond will be issued in four phases in 2023, an increase of 117% over the previous year, a record high in scale.
