"This event is very meaningful. I am very happy to compete and communicate with players from different places. During the visit, I personally experienced the sports atmosphere in Guangzhou. I want to come again next time!" On August 27th, after participating in the 3-day 2023 Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Football Exchange Competition in Guangzhou, Hong Kong Kowloon City team member Li Ziwei was still unsatisfied. In this exchange competition, over 200 young athletes from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao used sports exchange as a platform to deepen mutual understanding and enhance friendship. In addition to the competition, they visited Guangzhou Sports and Culture Museum, Haixinsha Asian Games Park, Baomo Garden, Shawan Ancient Town, and other places to personally experience the beautiful prospects of Lingnan culture and the integration and development of the Greater Bay Area, which share the same roots and origins. Li Ziwei, who participated in the Greater Bay Area Football Exchange Tournament for the first time, told reporters that this trip was full of rewards. "On the one hand, through matches, I can better understand the strength gap between myself and other players, which motivates me to work harder and improve my technical level. On the other hand, I have made many new friends, and everyone loves football. There are many common topics, and we have left contact methods for each other. We will continue to communicate in the future," he said. "In the past, I rarely had the opportunity to compete with so many teams at once. I have learned a lot from players from mainland China and Hong Kong, and have seen different ways of playing football. I am very happy," said He Jinran, a member of the Macau Business Youth Team who was awarded the honorary title of "Star of Hope" in this exchange match. The relevant person in charge of the Football Development Committee of the Kowloon City Sports Association in Hong Kong said, This kind of football exchange game is an important experience for young players. "Going to different places, communicating and playing with different teams can help players learn from each other and progress together. Moreover, participating in group activities can also help cultivate their sense of self-discipline and teamwork." He hopes to have more games of different levels in the future, allowing Hong Kong players to participate. "Compared to competition, friendship and communication among young people from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao are more important." said He Difu, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Guangdong Youth Association, "It's great to see the players show their full effort and enjoy the joy brought by football on the field. What's even happier is to see the young people from the three regions playing together outside the field and gaining friendship through communication.". "We hope to promote youth exchange, interaction, and integration among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao through hosting football exchange matches and other means. In the future, we will also work together with Guangdong and Macao to hold more youth exchange activities, hoping to help young people find more development opportunities and integrate into the overall development of the country in the construction of the Greater Bay Area," said He Difu. Xia Fangming, a second level inspector from the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of Guangdong Province, told reporters that in order to promote extensive communication, comprehensive exchange, and deep integration among young people from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, Guangdong has launched a "policy package" to support innovation and entrepreneurship. A series of facilitation measures have been introduced to support the development of Hong Kong and Macao youth in the Greater Bay Area, including education, medical care, housing, and employment. Together with Hong Kong and Macao, they have created the Greater Bay Area Youth Internship Program, the College Student Employment Internship Double Choice Program, and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base A series of brand projects, including cultural and artistic exchanges, serve, benefit and attract more and more young people from Hong Kong and Macao.
