About 50 high school students from 28 middle schools in Hong Kong recently participated in the first "Unlocking Macao: A Student Exploration Tour 2023-2024" study tour. Students went to the ruins of the old city wall, the Nezha Temple, the memorial archway of Dasanba, the Macao Museum, the Grand Battery, the Macao Tea Culture Museum and the Macao Grand Racing Museum to learn about Macao's history and culture. The "Unlocking Macau: Student Exploration Journey 2023-2024" study tour is a collaboration between the Tourism Bureau of the Macau SAR Government and Hong Kong media to promote the Macau project to Hong Kong high school students. It includes three parts: soliciting short articles, study tours, and publishing selected articles. By soliciting short articles, Hong Kong high school students can share their personal experiences and expectations for the study tour in Macau. shortlisted students can participate in the study tour in Macau and publish selected articles written by the students after the trip, so that Hong Kong high school students from grade one to grade three can understand the rich history and vibrant culture of Macau, further expand the market for young tourists in Hong Kong, promote Macau's "tourism+learning", and help promote the diversified development of Macau's tourism customer base. It is reported that in 2023, the Tourism Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government jointly launched related activities with Hong Kong New City Radio and "New City Education+". About 60 teachers and students from 10 high schools in Hong Kong participated in a two-day and one night study tour experience in Macau. The production of Macau culture and study tour experience videos continued and expanded the promotional effect of Macau study tour resources among Hong Kong youth, students, and parents. (Lai Xin She)
