At the 2024 World Mobile Communications Conference held in Barcelona, Spain, nearly 200 representatives from international institutions and businesses gathered at a special forum on the 27th with the theme of "Computing Networks: Intelligent Networks Empowering a Smart World" to jointly explore new opportunities brought by the development of computing power and work together to build a more intelligent digital world. "Computing power network", also known as "computing network integration" or "cloud network integration", is a service centered on computing, connected through networks, and matched and scheduled through perception. It can provide higher quality, lower cost, and lower latency computing power support for the widespread application of Internet of Things and artificial intelligence technology. Zhuang Rongwen, Director of the National Internet Information Office of China and President of the World Internet Conference, said in his speech that in today's era, the process of economic and social digital transformation and upgrading is accelerating, the demand for computing power in new applications of new technologies such as 5G, big data and artificial intelligence is increasing, and the supporting role of computing power in economic and social development is becoming increasingly prominent. In the face of new opportunities brought by the development of computing power, we should actively promote the construction of computing power networks, effectively empower various industries and fields for digital transformation, create intelligent, efficient, inclusive and convenient, green and low-carbon, safe and stable, and mutually beneficial computing power networks, and continuously consolidate the "computing power foundation" that supports the digital transformation of the economy and society. John Hoffman, CEO of the Global Association of Mobile Communications Systems, emphasized that digital transformation is reshaping every aspect of life, and with the emergence of new technologies and services, it is necessary to handle the ever-growing amount of data. He said, "In terms of computing power network deployment and services, Chinese operators are already in a leading position." Mohammad bin Amo, Secretary General of the Arab Organization for Information and Communication Technology, emphasized that high-quality computing power networks are the pillar of new technological development, and smarter networks will inevitably bring a smarter world. He emphasized that international cooperation is crucial for promoting the development of computing power networks.
