Military sports should have a military flavor

Recently, the 14th National Winter Games opened in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, where many athletes demonstrated outstanding skills and contributed a spectacular visual feast to the national audience. From this, one cannot help but think that there are many similarities between the sports field and the battlefield. The intense competition on the field is like a battlefield confrontation, and many sports events themselves are very beneficial for improving the combat effectiveness of the troops. Throughout human history, the development of military and sports has always been complementary. In the history of our country, military combat skills have long been transformed into popular sports such as archery, wrestling, martial arts, and equestrianism. In ancient military books such as "Six Tales" and "Wu Zi", it was proposed to choose "sports" special soldiers who are good at long-distance running, throwing, and jumping to form special types of troops for training. Throughout the history of war, many sports have also played important roles in battlefield confrontation. For example, skiing was not originally a simple sports activity, but also a combat skill. According to legend, during the Oslo Wars in the Middle Ages, Norwegian King Farley sent skiers to scout Sweden. In World War II, the Soviet army formed skiing units in infantry divisions to cope with winter operations. In the long river of history, military needs and military achievements are often the most effective in boosting the martial arts culture and leading the trend of folk movements. The "Biography of Zu Ti" in the Book of Jin, written by Fang Xuanling and others during the Tang Dynasty, recorded the stories of Zu Ti and Liu Kun, who were young and determined, and danced when they heard the rooster. Eventually, they respectively served as the General of Zhenxi and the General of Zhengbei. Moreover, from a certain perspective, the rise and fall of the sports industry is a barometer of the folk culture and martial spirit of a country and region. The development of folk sports can reserve high-quality soldiers for the military and provide solid strength for the country's emergency response. In many regions of our country, the prosperity of sports such as boxing, wrestling, and equestrianism has not only strengthened the physical fitness of the local people, but also provided many excellent soldiers with special skills and blood for the army. In the development of society, military and sports also play a mutually promoting and achieving role. Qi Jiguang recorded in "Ji Xiao Xin Shu" that the Song Taizu "32 style long fist" gradually evolved into a folk sports sport after being used in the military field. In ancient armies, efforts were also made to develop "sports" in order to train soldiers' military skills and enhance their ability to coordinate and cooperate with groups. The Book of Han, Yiwen Zhi, records the professional book "Twenty Five Chapters on Cuju" that specifically discussed Cuju at that time. Historian Ban Gu once listed it as a military book, believing that it had a reference and guidance role in military training. According to historical records, Huo Qubing once trained soldiers through Cuju during the conquest of the Xiongnu, which shows the promoting role of sports in military training. The past is a reflection of the present, and the present will surely triumph over the past. Throughout the military, all units have attached great importance to hosting military sports events, with exciting and full of competitive atmosphere. These competitions not only enhance the basic physical fitness of officers and soldiers, but also help enrich their leisure life. But if the requirements for the selected events in the military sports meet are too high and not down-to-earth, it will evolve into a top-notch "performance competition", ignoring the mass characteristics of sports and failing to achieve the goal of improving overall physical fitness. If the competition project is conservative and lacks innovation, it may focus more on "physical fitness" than on "physical fitness"
