Shenzhen Yantian Port, home appliance products from Zhongshan are transshipped through the "combined port" model and exported overseas; The Hengqin Guangdong Macao Cooperation Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Industrial Park has seen the rapid operation of the robotic arm in the smart workshop, accelerating the pace of traditional Chinese medicine going global; The "Hong Kong and Macao New Youth Residence" in Nansha, Guangzhou, attracts young people from Hong Kong and Macao to move in, becoming a new home for innovation and entrepreneurship... This is the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, one of the most open and economically dynamic regions in China. February 18 is the first working day after the Spring Festival holiday in the the Year of the Loong, which coincides with the fifth anniversary of the release of the Development Planning Outline of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area (hereinafter referred to as the Planning Outline). Over the past five years, a series of software and hardware measures have been implemented to significantly enhance the comprehensive strength of the Greater Bay Area, deepen cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, and give the people of the three regions a greater sense of gain. During the Spring Festival period, the construction site of the Shenzhen Zhongshan Passage remains bustling with strong infrastructure support and accelerated circulation of production factors. The workers are working tirelessly to complete the project, accelerating towards its completion and opening to traffic by 2024. This world-class cross sea project connects the two sides of the Pearl River. After opening to traffic, the commute time from Zhongshan to Shenzhen will be reduced from 2 hours to 30 minutes. The interconnected infrastructure network is a strong support for the efficient and smooth economic circulation in the Greater Bay Area. At present, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau have achieved direct land connections, reducing the travel time from Hong Kong to Zhuhai and Macau from 3 hours to half an hour. The fastest travel time from Hong Kong to Guangzhou by high-speed rail is only 48 minutes. Hong Kong and Macau have integrated into the "1-hour transportation circle" of the Greater Bay Area. As of November 1, 2023, the number of northbound Hong Kong Macao single license plate vehicles inspected by the border inspection station of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge has exceeded 1 million. The Bay Area One Port Connect covers 17 port outlets including Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan, etc., achieving localized and convenient customs clearance of goods. Since 2023, the total import and export volume between mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area and Hong Kong and Macao has reached 1026.64 billion yuan. From the implementation of the "Cross border Wealth Management Connect" business until the end of 2023, 69000 individual investors have participated in the Greater Bay Area, and a total of 12.8 billion yuan of related funds have been transferred across borders. On November 8, 2023, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao jointly held the second Global Investment Conference, attracting more than 120 foreign enterprises from more than 20 countries to participate. 859 investment projects were signed, with a total amount of 2.24 trillion yuan.
