The final and award ceremony of the 3rd Hengqin International Science and Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was held in Macau on the evening of the 25th. Finally, 11 award-winning enterprises in the start-up group, 10 award-winning enterprises in the growth group, and 6 award-winning enterprises in the "New Qinglian Award" were selected. This competition is hosted by the Executive Committee of the Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, hosted by the Economic Development Bureau of the Shenzhen Cooperation Zone, and supported by the Economic and Technological Development Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government and the Macao Special Administrative Region Science and Technology Development Fund. Li Weinong, Director of the Economic and Financial Department of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government and Director of the Shenzhen Cooperation Zone Executive Committee, stated that the Shenzhen Cooperation Zone will take this competition as an opportunity to further expand the attraction of the Macao Qinhuangdao Joint Investment, actively expand the international market, explore more innovative and forward-looking projects and teams, gather more innovative forces, continuously introduce high-quality innovative resources, and attract more high-quality assets and benchmark projects to land. It is reported that the Shenzhen Cooperation Zone will support more projects with industrialization conditions to demonstrate their application or pilot production through various funding plans, promote the transformation of funded achievements in the Shenzhen Cooperation Zone, and inject more new momentum and vitality into the industrial development of the zone. The competition focuses on the main direction of industries in the Shenzhen Cooperation Zone, aiming at the forefront of current technological industry development. It focuses on recruiting in four major fields: integrated circuits and electronic components, biopharmaceuticals and medical devices, big data and artificial intelligence, new materials and new energy, and has attracted 1359 science and technology innovation project registrations from home and abroad. For the first time, this competition has established the "New Qinglian Award" for Macau and Portuguese speaking countries, attracting 278 Macau projects to register, which is twice the number of the previous competition. Ultimately, three Portuguese speaking countries and three Macau enterprises won the award. It is reported that the "New Qinglian Award" bonus can be enjoyed in combination with awards from start-up or growth groups, further increasing support for Macau's young innovative and entrepreneurial enterprises, and to a greater extent attracting and gathering outstanding Macau youth talents and technology projects for entrepreneurial development in Qinhuangdao. Since its first edition in 2018, the Hengqin Science and Technology Innovation Competition has become a science and technology innovation feast in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.
