On January 14th, the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Journal Exchange Symposium was held in Guangzhou, attended by the presidents and chief editors of magazines such as "Outlook on the New Era" in Hong Kong, "Greater Bay Area Times" in Macau, as well as "The Beginning of People", "Practical Medicine", "Financial Technology Era", etc. The conference was chaired by Chen Tongbin, the president of the Guangdong Provincial Journal Association. At the symposium, the leaders of each journal introduced the founding history and development process of each journal, and conducted in-depth exchanges from the perspective of journal integration, innovation, and development in the Greater Bay Area. Wang Junzheng, President of Outlook New Era Magazine, stated that Outlook New Era Magazine is a comprehensive media platform that provides in-depth coverage of current affairs, economy, culture, and other news. It aims to enhance exchanges and cooperation with the Journal Association and the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, help promote economic and cultural exchanges between Hong Kong and the mainland, China and overseas, and spread the voice of China well. According to Wu Mo, the editor in chief of the Greater Bay Area Times, the newspaper is based in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and rooted in Macau. Its main projects cover newspaper and magazine publishing and distribution, as well as the development of information websites. 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of Macau's return to China. Taking this as an opportunity, we plan journal exchange activities and hope to deepen cooperation with more journal peers in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, integrate resources from universities, governments, and media, and build a bridge for deepening cultural communication and exchange between Macau and the Greater Bay Area. The convening of this symposium will help strengthen the construction of journals in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, provide vivid cases and rich practical experience to promote the development of journal work in Guangdong Hong Kong Macao, plan the international development of Chinese and Guangdong journals, and achieve high-quality development of journal work.
