2023 is destined to be a milestone year in the history of industrial development in Jiangmen. Entering the Fengshan Lake Park of Xinhui Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park, in recent years, the Innovation Aviation Jiangmen Base Project, one of the largest physical investment projects in Jiangmen, has become the production base with the fastest development momentum and the most efficient production capacity of China Innovation Aviation Group. The project was launched in April last year, and driven by it, leading enterprises in the upstream and downstream industries of new energy batteries and new energy storage with a total investment of over 15 billion yuan have successively settled in Jiangmen. The heat of industrial investment reflects the trend of economic development. At the beginning of 2023, Jiangmen clearly stated that "without industrial investment as the leader, there will be no manufacturing industry as the leader", and set an important goal of "promoting industrial investment to exceed 100 billion yuan and striving to become the sixth city in the province with industrial investment exceeding 100 billion yuan". At the 6th Plenary Session of the 14th Municipal Party Committee held on January 8, 2024, the news of becoming the 6th city in the province with industrial investment exceeding 100 billion yuan was exciting. This means that Jiangmen has achieved a historic breakthrough in industrial investment exceeding 100 billion yuan in just the past year of 2023. As a traditional industrial base in Guangdong Province, Jiangmen has forged a solid industrial heritage through years of perseverance. Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, "Jiangmen Manufacturing" has made significant leaps. Today, among the 41 major industrial categories, 207 medium industrial categories, and 666 small industrial categories, Jiangmen has 35 industrial categories, 142 industrial medium industrial categories, and 349 industrial sub categories, ranking among the top in the province. Industry is a gene engraved in the development process of Jiangmen city. In recent years, facing the significant opportunity of accelerating the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, Jiangmen has ushered in accelerated transformation with a new round of advance planning, forward-looking layout, and brave actions. Since the 14th Party Congress of the city in 2021, Jiangmen has clearly adhered to the principle of building a strong city through industry and manufacturing, proposed to deepen the "industrial revitalization" and "park reconstruction" projects, bravely become the main force for high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in the province, and create the main battlefield for high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in the Greater Bay Area. Over the past two years, Jiangmen has successively introduced a series of policy measures to support the growth and strengthening of the manufacturing industry. It has also pioneered the "certificate issuance upon acceptance" of engineering construction in the province, established a service team for the top 200 industrial enterprises, opened a rapid response platform for the demands of small and medium-sized enterprises, continuously optimized services, and won the initiative to achieve historical breakthroughs.
