Starting from November 1, 2023, Guangxi will include some therapeutic assisted reproductive medical services such as egg retrieval surgery in the payment scope of basic medical insurance and work-related injury insurance funds. At this point, Guangxi has achieved a breakthrough in zero reimbursement of medical insurance for assisted reproductive medical services, and eligible women who undergo in vitro fertilization can now be reimbursed. When insured individuals enjoy basic medical insurance benefits, there is no minimum payment limit. The reimbursement rates for employee basic medical insurance and urban and rural resident basic medical insurance are 70% and 50%, respectively. The implementation of this policy will reduce the economic burden on infertile families and also contribute to improving the fertility rate.
