On December 25th, the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge experienced a peak in traffic flow. According to statistics from the border inspection station of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, the number of vehicles entering and exiting through the Zhuhai Highway Port exceeded 16000 for the first time on that day, breaking the record for the 19th time this year and setting the highest single day record since the official opening of the bridge. Affected by the Hong Kong and Macao public holidays, the number of passengers inspected by the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge border inspection station from December 23 to December 25 exceeded 100000 for three consecutive days, a total of 308000, with 121000 outbound and 187000 inbound. The total number of inspected vehicles was 45500, 20600 outbound and 24900 inbound, forming a huge "scissors gap" of 66000 and 4300 inbound and outbound respectively. Among them, there were a total of 29000 vehicles with single license plates from Hong Kong and Macao, accounting for 64% of the total, making them the main driving force for port traffic. The Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, as the only designated passage port for "Hong Kong vehicles heading north" and "Macao vehicles heading north", is the main factor driving up the inbound and outbound traffic and passenger flow of the port with the continuous increase of single license plate vehicles from Hong Kong and Macao. Since December, the traffic volume of single license plate vehicles in Hong Kong and Macao has reached 169000, a month on month increase of 12.6%, with a daily average traffic volume of over 6700, accounting for 55.8% of the total daily passenger traffic volume at ports. Among them, the monthly average growth rate of single license plate vehicles in Hong Kong has exceeded 24.8%, with the highest daily traffic volume exceeding 5400. Hong Kong single license plate vehicles have become the main growth point of port traffic vehicles. Currently, the number of single license plate vehicles in Hong Kong that have completed border inspection and filing has reached 35400, which is 1.3 times more than a single license plate car in Macau Bao Haiyang, Deputy Director of the Border Inspection Department of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge Border Inspection Station, introduced. Driven by the "northward" policy, the passenger and vehicle flow at Zhuhai Highway Port has shown a stepwise growth. Since the beginning of this year, the border inspection station of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge has inspected over 15.8 million inbound and outbound passengers and over 3.17 million vehicles, which are 1.25 times and 3.75 times higher than the same period in 2019, respectively. To cope with the increasing pressure of diversion, the station innovated the form of inspection and officially launched the mobile inspection mode on the bus lane on December 23, reducing the average waiting time of passengers during peak hours by 20% -30%; Dynamically adjust the deployment of police forces, add leading positions, fully open and inspect channels before the peak of passenger and vehicle flow, prepare sufficient on duty police and mobile forces, and provide cross departmental police support at any time. The border inspection department reminds that with the arrival of the New Year holiday, the passenger and vehicle flow at the port will continue to operate at a high level.
