The regular budget of the United Nations for 2023 is approximately 3.4 billion US dollars. The regular budget of the United Nations is used to cover the recurring expenses required to maintain the normal operation of institutions. In addition to regular budgets, the United Nations also prepares peacekeeping budgets. The peacekeeping budget fiscal year starts on July 1st each year, therefore the peacekeeping budget is passed during the summer. The proportion of the regular budget of the United Nations is determined based on the payment capacity of each member state. The allocation ratio of peacekeeping budget funds is adjusted based on the reference to the allocation ratio of regular budget funds. Among them, the five permanent members of the Security Council are separately classified as one level and need to share a higher proportion of budget funds.
