2023-12-20

On December 19th, the first batch of "Bay Area Certification" projects were announced in Shenzhen. Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao jointly announced 15 "Bay Area Certification" projects. The "Bay Area Certification" public service platform was launched and the "Bay Area Certification" logo was put into use. Under the guidance of the State Administration for Market Regulation and relevant departments of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, the "Bay Area Certification" is a voluntary certification of high-end quality carried out by certification agencies and other business entities in the three regions, based on the common implementation standards of the Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Greater Bay Area, in the form of the Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao Greater Bay Area Certification Alliance. After in-depth research and scientific demonstration, the three operating entities in the three regions have jointly developed the first 15 projects of the "Bay Area Certification" in the fields of industrial consumer goods, agricultural food products, and service industries. The project highlights the collaboration, construction, and sharing between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao. The Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Certification Alliance, the Bay Area Certification Professional Technical Committee, and the Guangdong Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Certification Promotion Center are jointly established by the operating entities and personnel from the three regions, and the certification project research and development is jointly organized. The implementation rules and standards for all projects of the Bay Area Certification are jointly developed by the three regions, and the relevant technical indicators meet the market access requirements of the three regions. The specific projects are jointly organized and implemented by the three regions to achieve "one certification, three regional access". The Bay Area Certification adheres to the five major concepts of "Green Bay Area, Smart Bay Area, Healthy Bay Area, Source Production Bay Area, and Product Shang Bay Area". The first batch of projects cover daily needs such as clothing, food, housing, and use, meeting the special needs of different groups such as the elderly and children. We are committed to supporting the inheritance of authentic characteristics and technological innovation, actively promoting green, low-carbon, and healthy consumption concepts, and helping the Greater Bay Area create a high-quality living circle that is livable, suitable for business, and suitable for tourism. The Bay Area Certification actively responds to market consumer concerns and uses rigorous and scientific certification methods to ensure that the public's pursuit of high quality is effectively met. For example, the certification rules for the "Strawberry" project require that no "puffing agents" be sprayed or sweeteners be added during the planting process; The "low blue light" certification project requires a photosafety risk level evaluation higher than the IEC international standard requirements; The innovation of the "Elderly Care Service" project proposes requirements for microbiological testing of food in hospital buildings. By subtracting risks and hidden concerns, and adding to safety and quality, the Bay Area certification will be developed into a reliable quality symbol for consumers to prioritize and blindly select. "After joining the 'Bay Area Certification', we can more conveniently obtain policy support and market resources on this platform, and also better cooperate with other enterprises," said Fang Qing, General Manager of TCL Industrial Holdings' Pan Smart Screen BU R&D Center. The first batch of projects also highlighted the credibility of quality certification. The innovative system construction of "Bay Area Certification" introduces a mechanism for quality information disclosure, promised compensation, and seller first responsibility. "By promising compensation, we will strengthen the main responsibility of certification agencies and operators in all aspects of the entire chain, and demonstrate the credibility of 'Bay Area Certification' through responsibility implementation," said Lai Jing, Chairman of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Certification Alliance.
