Entering the track laying stage! New progress in the Pazhou branch of the Pearl River Delta intercity railway

On December 14th, at the Lianhua Station of the Pearl River Delta Intercity Pazhou Branch Line (hereinafter referred to as the "Pazhou Branch Line"), the first pair of 500 meter long steel rails on the Pazhou Branch Line were successfully laid on the concrete track bed. The Pazhou Branch Line officially entered the track laying stage, sprinting towards the "rail connection" node target. "The laying of long tracks is an important milestone in the construction of the Pazhou branch line. After five years of construction, the Pazhou branch line successfully achieved 'tunnel connection' in the first half of this year, and the next step will be 'rail connection'." Qiao Guohua, the head of the Civil Engineering Department of the Second Construction Command of the Pearl River Delta Intercity Company, introduced. The Pazhou Branch Line is an important passage connecting the Convention and Exhibition Business District in the central urban area of Guangzhou with the Pearl River Delta intercity railway, with a total length of 17.6 kilometers. It connects Pazhou Station to the northwest and transfers between Pazhou Station and the Guangzhou Foshan Intercity Railway, as well as Metro Line 11 and Line 8; The Lianhuashan Station in the southeast and the Foguan intercity transfer can connect Zhaoqing and Foshan to the west and Dongguan, Huizhou, and Shenzhen to the east through the Foguan intercity, accelerating the interconnection of the "Greater Bay Area on the track". "Track laying is an important milestone in the comprehensive transition of urban rail construction from pre station engineering to post station engineering," said Zhou Yang, the chief engineer of the Pazhou branch line track laying project of China Railway Second Bureau. The long steel rails of the Pazhou branch line are directly laid on the already prepared ballastless track bed using the push method. A single steel rail with a length of 500 meters is transported from Dongguan to the Puzhou branch line through the Puzhou Railway, intercity railway, and upcoming construction lines. The Pazhou branch line has four stations, including Pazhou, University City East, Hualong, and Lianhua, with a designed speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The route runs from Pazhou Station on the Guangfo Ring Line, successively crossing Metro Line 4, Xinzhou Waterway, Xinhua Expressway, and Metro Line 7, and then setting up the University City East Station on the east side of the University City. It transfers to Shenjing Station on Metro Line 7 at the University City East Station; After exiting the station, it passes through Panyu Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant and runs parallel to the east side of Xinhua Expressway to Hualong, where an underground station is set up. Heading south from Hualong Station, it connects to Foshan Dongguan Intercity Lianhua Station. At present, 97% of the civil engineering projects of the Pazhou branch line have been completed, and the main structure construction of all two stations has been completed. (Lai Xin She)
