The 3rd Academic Annual Conference on Education Evaluation with the theme of "Education Evaluation Reform to Serve the Construction of an Education Strong Country" was held in Chongqing from December 8th to 10th. This annual conference is jointly hosted by the Education Evaluation Professional Committee of the China Education Development Strategy Society and Southwest University. It is jointly organized by the Ministry of Development Planning and Discipline Construction, the Ministry of Education, the School of Teacher Education, the Education Evaluation Reform Research Center, affiliated high schools, affiliated primary schools, and others of Southwest University. The conference established a variety of activities, including a main forum, thematic parallel forums, academic paper viewpoints sharing, topic and research results publishing, etc. More than 170 experts and frontline practitioners were invited to give academic reports and experience sharing, attracting nearly 700 education administrative departments, higher education, research institutes, vocational education, basic education, education academic journals and other member units from all levels and types across the country Representatives from departments and those engaged in or concerned with educational evaluation work attended this conference. At the opening ceremony, Han Jin, President of the China Education Development Strategy Society and former Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University, stated in his speech that we must adhere to the correct direction of education evaluation reform, fully leverage our professional advantages, adhere to the principle of seeking truth from facts, follow the laws of education, and provide strong support for building a world-class education evaluation system with Chinese characteristics, accelerating the construction of an education strong country, providing satisfactory education for the people, and achieving modernization of education. Chen Yu, a second level inspector of the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission, pointed out that in the new era of education evaluation reform, we should adhere to serving the overall situation, innovating methods, providing classified guidance, and piloting guidance. We should "fasten the button" in strategic planning, "shoulder the burden" in work promotion, "nail the nail" in implementation, and "explore the path" in the promotion of replication. Professor Zhang Weiguo, President of Southwest University, stated that as the best combination of science and technology as the primary productive force, talent as the primary resource, and innovation as the primary driving force, universities should focus on building a high-quality education system, take education evaluation reform as the driving force, coordinate and promote the reform of education methods, educational models, management systems, and guarantee mechanisms, and make every effort to fight the "hardest battle" of evaluation reform. At the meeting, the Chongqing Education Work Leading Group of the Communist Party of China and the Chongqing Education Commission awarded medals to the Chongqing Education Evaluation Reform Higher Education Research Center (Southwest University), Chongqing Education Evaluation Reform Basic Education Research Center (Chongqing Education Evaluation Institute), and Chongqing Education Evaluation Reform Vocational Education Research Center (Chongqing Industrial Vocational and Technical College). The opening ceremony was presided over by Wang Dianjun, a national supervisor, vice president of the China Education Development Strategy Society and chairman of the Education Evaluation Professional Committee, and professor at Tsinghua University. At the main forum of the conference, Professor Lin Jianhua, Vice President of the China Education Development Strategy Society, former President of Peking University, and Director of the Future Education and Management Research Center of Peking University, made a rational judgment based on the essential characteristics of the university and deeply revealed the logic of higher education evaluation. Zheng Quanshui, an academician of the CAS Member, the chief professor of Qian Xuesen's class of Tsinghua University, and the founding dean of Shenzhen Zero One University, reviewed the practical experience of Qian Xuesen's experimental class of Tsinghua University, and shared his thoughts and experience in the selection and evaluation of top-notch innovative talents.
