The 20th China (Guangzhou) International Documentary Festival will be held from December 4th to 7th. This documentary festival is hosted by the State Administration of Radio and Television and the People's Government of Guangdong Province, and organized by the Guangzhou Municipal Government and the Guangdong Provincial Radio and Television Bureau. With the theme of "light and shadow documentary, cultural mutual learning", a total of 7280 documentaries from 156 countries and regions participated in the exhibition. More than half of the overseas evaluated and exhibited works have increased in number compared to previous editions. This year's Documentary Festival holds the main forum "Biography of the Times - The Historical Responsibility and Cultural Mission of Documentaries", inviting industry authorities, professionals, and scholars to jointly study and explore the mission and direction of documentary creation in the new era. At the same time, an "International Industry Express" section will be set up to share the latest projects and strategic layouts of major producers and broadcasters in 2024. In addition, this documentary festival has added excellent micro documentary units, providing new channels for seeking diverse expressions of Chinese stories. (Lai Xin She)
