The 10th anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Confucius Institute at the University of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia was held on the 4th at the University of Addis Ababa located in the capital city of Ethiopia. Students from the Confucius Institute of Asia University performed Chinese Kung Fu, playing bamboo boards, singing Chinese opera, and performing ethnic dance with Ethiopian characteristics on site. The organizers also released a Chinese textbook titled "Hello, Chinese", which was taught in the local languages of Amharic and Oromo. At the celebration ceremony, Ethiopian Minister of Education Kola stated that developing cultural exchanges between Ethiopia and China is the cornerstone of comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. Through language education and cultural exchange, the Confucius Institute at the University of Ethiopia has made positive contributions to promoting friendship between Ethiopia and China. Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia Zhao Zhiyuan said in his speech that the Confucius Institute at the University of Asia has developed into an important platform for Chinese education in Ethiopia and cultural cooperation and exchange between China and Ethiopia, promoting cultural exchanges and people to people communication. I hope that the Confucius Institute at the University of Asia will actively implement the global civilization initiative proposed by Chinese leaders, play a greater role in promoting cultural exchanges between the two countries and deepening the all-weather strategic partnership between China and Ethiopia, and make greater contributions. Samuel, President of the University of Addis Ababa, praised the Confucius Institute at the University of Addis Ababa for playing a bridging role in developing friendship between the two countries. He expressed his hope to consolidate the achievements of past cooperation between the two sides and open up new areas of cooperation for the common interests of the two countries. Zhang Jingang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Tianjin Vocational and Technical Normal University, said that for the past decade, the Confucius Institute of Asia University has been committed to providing professional and high-quality Chinese teaching services for cultural exchange activities between China and Ethiopia, cultivating high-quality local Chinese talents in Ethiopia, and building a bridge of friendship between China and Ethiopia. The Confucius Institute at the University of Addis Ababa is jointly established by Tianjin Vocational and Technical Normal University and the University of Addis Ababa.
