Hong Kong holds a symposium on National Constitution Day in 2023

In order to deepen the understanding of the constitutional basis of the country and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region from all walks of life, the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Hong Kong jointly organized the National Constitution Day Symposium on the theme of "Constitution and Chinese path to modernization" on the 4th. Li Jiachao, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, delivered a speech, saying that the path of Chinese path to modernization should be guaranteed by the Constitution. The path of "one country, two systems" in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region must also be guaranteed by the Constitution and the Basic Law. Zheng Yanxiong, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Hong Kong, delivered a speech, saying that the symposium was of great significance for comprehensively grasping the constitutional logic of Chinese path to modernization, promoting Chinese path to modernization to better seize the opportunities of Hong Kong, and better promoting its own development in the process of serving the overall development of the country. The symposium will feature keynote speeches and dialogue sessions. Professor Zhang Xiang from Peking University Law School delivered a keynote speech. The dialogue session was presided over by Fan Xulitai, the chairman of the council of Lijin Education Center, the supporting institution of the symposium. Liang Meifen, a member of the Hong Kong Basic Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and Chen Xiaofeng, a representative of the Hong Kong National People's Congress, discussed how Hong Kong can contribute to the country's building of a powerful country and promoting Chinese path to modernization. Representatives of central resident institutions in Hong Kong, including Director of the National Security Agency in Hong Kong, Dong Jingwei, Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong, Fang Jianming, Political Commissar of the People's Liberation Army in Hong Kong, Lai Ruxin, Chief Justice of the Court of Final Appeal of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, key officials of the SAR government, members of the Executive Council, members of the Legislative Council, and about 500 guests from all walks of life attended the symposium.
