The main line of the Shenzhen Zhongshan Passage is connected and is expected to open next year

In the winter of Lingnan, the sky is clear and clear; On the Lingdingyang, the smoke and waves are vast and vast. A super large cross sea passage that integrates bridges, islands, tunnels, and underwater interconnections, resembling a long dragon, passing through clouds and breaking through the sea in an "S" shape, appearing and disappearing from time to time. This is a major national project - Shenzhen China Channel. Following the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, it will once again connect the east and west sides of the the Pearl River Estuary, which will add a key "horizontal" to the "A" shaped main traffic skeleton of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. After opening next year, the travel time from Shenzhen to Zhongshan will be shortened from 2 hours to less than 30 minutes. On the morning of November 28th, with the completion of the last batch of concrete pouring, the main line of the 24 kilometer deep middle passage was fully connected. Crossing the vast expanse of blue waves, the "hands" stretched out from Qianhai in Shenzhen and Ma'an Island in Zhongshan finally held tightly together after 7 years. The two artificial islands of "Langjian Luozi" connect the bridge and tunnel to achieve rapid transportation transfer. Starting from Zhongshan Ma'an Island, the engineering nodes of the Shenzhong Passage from west to east include Zhongshan Bridge, Lingdingyang Bridge, Xirengong Island, submarine tunnel, and Dongrengong Island, connecting to the side connection of the under construction Guangzhou Shenzhen Yangtze River Expressway Shenzhen section. How can vehicles safely enter the underwater tunnel from the Lingdingyang Bridge, which is several tens of meters away from the sea surface? The problem was solved by the "kite line" of the Lingdingyang Bridge, which pulled and shaped like a kite on the Xiren Industrial Island. This "kite" started construction in December 2016 and is the first son of the Shenzhong Passage to land in the Lingdingyang area. "The most important function of Xirengong Island is bridge tunnel conversion," said Huang Qingfei, Chief Engineer of the Tunnel and Underground Engineering Department of China Communications Highway Planning and Design Institute. "Cars come down from the bridge, pass through Xirengong Island, and enter the sunken tube tunnel under the sea." In the vast sea, how long does it take to build an artificial island with an area of approximately 137000 square meters, equivalent to the size of 19 standard football fields? "? The answer is four and a half months. "57 steel cylinders with a diameter of 28 meters, a height of 35 meters to 40 meters, and a weight of over 600 tons sank into the seabed, forming a enclosing wall. Then, sand was filled inside to carry out the main structure construction on the island." Zheng Weitao, Deputy Chief Engineer of the Deep Middle Passage Project Department of China Communications First Navigation Bureau, said that due to the complex geological strata of the artificial island located in the sand mining area, conventional equipment and technology make it difficult for the steel cylinders to vibrate and sink into place smoothly, Therefore, the construction team independently developed a 12 hammer linkage hammer group, which, through simultaneous vibration, gradually "knocked" giant steel cylinders into the seabed rock layers on the sea foundation, creating a record for rapid island construction. The sunken tube tunnel hidden under the sea from the West Artificial Island resurfaces from the East Artificial Island located on the south side of Shenzhen Bao'an Airport, which is also the gateway project of the Shenzhen end of the Shenzhen Zhongshan Passage. Previously, this was a shallow beach, with an island area of 343800 square meters filled with sea sand, equivalent to 48 standard football fields. This is the first underwater interchange on a highway in China, adopting a "one body, two wings" layout. There are four ramp tunnels underwater, one side connected to the underwater immersed tube tunnel, and the other side efficiently and smoothly connected to the road network such as the Guangzhou Shenzhen Yangtze River Expressway. The challenge lies in interconnectivity. We need to fill the sea and build an island below the Guangzhou Shenzhen Yangtze River Expressway, filling more than 3 million cubic meters of sea sand. The construction of the island will not cause displacement and settlement of the bridge piers along the Yangtze River Expressway
