At the event, the lecturers of the Zhaoqing Youth Propaganda Team, He Minhua, Zheng Yuzhao, Director of the Qingshui Reservoir Office of the Water Bureau Bureau of Lianjiang City in Zhanjiang, and Lin Guangxuan, Director of the Gaoqiao Management Station of the Zhanjiang Mangrove National Nature Reserve, shared the stories of the "green" and "beauty" they had personally experienced and protected. When he was a child, He Minhua heard that there was a well-known mountain in his hometown with a Yueshan Forest Farm on it. It wasn't until she followed her teachers and masters to the forest farm during a work trip and heard firsthand about the difficult years of the "Yue Mountain Afforestation Battle" that she learned about the hard work and perseverance behind the lush mountains and forests. She also planted a seed in her heart to tell this story to more people. At the event, He Minhua once again passionately recounted the process of the "Yueshan Afforestation Battle": in the 1950s and 1960s, the mountains and forests in Huaiji were extensively cut down and cultivated, and the production and life of the surrounding people were greatly affected. Between 1974 and 1975, Huaiji County organized more than 25000 young militia and commune members to carry out two afforestation battles in Yueshan. They used hoes and pole bearers to dig trenches and set up camps in extremely difficult conditions. Within two years, the total afforestation area reached 35000 acres. Later, the Blue Bell Commune took the lead in establishing the first forestry and breeding farm in Huaiji County in Yueshan, and based on this, established the Yueshan Forest Farm, laying a solid foundation for the creation of the San Yue Provincial Nature Reserve. He Minhua said that now entering the Sanyue Provincial Nature Reserve, it has become a "green pearl" with vast forests and lush trees. Rare and precious tree species like the bald cedar have also achieved continuous growth, which is rare both domestically and internationally. "We now see that Mount Yue is green and Suijiang is clear, because generations have taken over the baton of green development." He Minhua said that the baton has now been passed on to the new generation. As a spokesperson, she wants to tell everyone the story of barren mountains and forests turning into waves and forests, and pass on the glorious tradition of "afforestation on Mount Yue" to everyone's heart.
