On November 17th, the award ceremony of the first "National Cup" China Ethnic Arts and Crafts Competition was held in Beijing. The competition was jointly sponsored by the China National Minority Articles Association and the National Arts and Crafts Branch, and received more than 1000 submissions, covering various categories such as ceramic art, sculpture, calligraphy and painting, enamel, cloisonne, gold and silver ware, bronze ware, glass, lacquer ware, prints, Paper Cuttings, embroidery, clothing, fiber art, dyeing and weaving, jewelry, cultural creativity, vision, clothing, and so on. The competition selected a total of 60 gold awards, 78 silver awards, 110 bronze awards, 142 excellent awards, and over 300 nomination awards, aiming to showcase new achievements in contemporary ethnic arts and crafts, stimulate the vitality of creators, and promote the prosperity and development of Chinese ethnic arts and crafts creation. At the event, Jin Wen, a representative inheritor of China's intangible cultural heritage (Yunjin), said that ethnic arts and crafts should not only inherit traditional skills, but also live in the present and integrate with modern life. Taking Yunjin as an example, many works and derivatives that cater to the preferences of young people have been produced and widely used in various fields such as home furnishings, clothing, cultural and creative industries. It is reported that through the competition, nearly 800 representative ethnic arts and crafts works have been included in the "2022 Ethnic Arts and Crafts Yearbook". At the event site, a nationwide solicitation work for the 2023 Chinese Ethnic Arts and Crafts Yearbook was also launched. (New News Agency)
