2023-11-10

The Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Chen Maobo, stated on the 8th that Hong Kong, with the support of the central government, is actively promoting cross-border data flow within the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Data fusion will be beneficial for the development of industries such as artificial intelligence and biopharmaceuticals. At the second International Financial Leaders Investment Summit held in Hong Kong on the same day, Chen Maobo stated that data-intensive artificial intelligence is rapidly developing and driving revolutionary changes in finance and other fields. Many mainland AI companies are eager to explore and develop in Hong Kong, and many international AI companies are also doing the same. He said that innovative technology is the core engine of Hong Kong's economic growth. The SAR government has optimized resource allocation, invested over HKD 200 billion to support the development of innovative technology, and the innovation technology ecosystem in Hong Kong is becoming increasingly strong. Numerous scholars and research talents have gathered in Hong Kong, and technology companies at different stages have also chosen Hong Kong's vibrant capital market for financing. It is believed that more "unicorn" enterprises will be born in Hong Kong in the next 5 to 10 years. Chen Maobo also stated that the global trend of transition to a low-carbon economy is irreversible, and Hong Kong's green technology industry is thriving. There are now hundreds of green technology companies, some of which have provided solutions around the world. Thanks to the respective advantages of Hong Kong and other cities in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, we believe that the Greater Bay Area can rise to become an international center for green technology and green finance, and promote global green transformation.
