On the 31st, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government held a seminar on "Improving Regional Governance and Creating a Better Community" at the government headquarters, with approximately 300 representatives from various sectors of society, patriotic and Hong Kong political figures, and experts and scholars attending. The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Li Jiachao, said in his speech that the SAR government has been committed to improving regional governance, striving to build better communities, and allowing citizens to feel a sense of happiness and gain firsthand. The top priority of improving the regional governance plan is to reshape the district council, improve its composition and selection methods, and ensure the comprehensive implementation of the principle of "patriot governing Hong Kong" through nomination, qualification review, and oath taking, so as to firmly hold the district council in the hands of patriots. During his special speech, Zheng Yanxiong, Director of the Hong Kong Joint Office of the Communist Party of China, shared four views on improving regional governance, including the need to deeply grasp the political logic of improving regional governance and firmly implement the principle of "patriots governing Hong Kong"; Deeply grasp the historical logic of improving regional governance and thoroughly eliminate the soil of the Hong Kong version of the "color revolution"; Deeply grasp the legal logic of improving regional governance and continuously improve the "one country, two systems" institutional system; Deeply grasp the practical logic of improving regional governance, and use a systematic and integrated grassroots governance system to assist in good governance and good governance. Huang Yushan, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong Basic Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Tan Huizhu, former Deputy Director of the Hong Kong Basic Law Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Tan Yaozong, Secretary General of the Hong Kong Alliance for Further Development, Liu Zhaojia, Advisor to the National Association for Hong Kong and Macao Studies, and Wu Qiubei, Representative of the Hong Kong National People's Congress, delivered speeches at the meeting. Chen Guoji said that we need to comprehensively reshape an efficient district council that brings happiness to citizens, does practical things for the region, and seeks development for Hong Kong.
