The Hong Kong Talent Services Office was officially established on the 30th to increase efforts to attract and retain talent for Hong Kong. The recently released 2023 Policy Address of the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region announced the establishment of the Hong Kong Talent Services Office, which will serve as a dedicated unit for formulating talent recruitment strategies and supporting talent retention in Hong Kong. The office will aim to assist talents in the long-term development of Hong Kong, develop recruitment and promotion strategies for different talent groups, attract more talents to come to Hong Kong for development, and provide appropriate support for talents who are interested in or have just arrived in Hong Kong in terms of life, work, and children's education. The Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Chan Kwok kee, presided over the opening ceremony and stated that Hong Kong will continue to make every effort to attract and retain talents. The Hong Kong Talent Services Office, along with a series of other measures, will help lead Hong Kong to become an international talent hub and make new contributions to the high-quality development of the country. According to Chen Guoji, in the first nine months of this year, Hong Kong's various talent import programs have received a total of about 160000 applications, of which more than 100000 have been approved. So far, about 60000 talents have been granted visas to come to Hong Kong, far exceeding the performance target of introducing at least 35000 talents per year set by Hong Kong. (New News Agency)
