The Yangtze River National Cultural Park Construction Promotion Conference, hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, was held in Wuhan on the 11th. Representatives from 19 departments including the Central Propaganda Department and the National Development and Reform Commission, as well as representatives from the Propaganda Department, Development and Reform Commission, cultural and tourism administrative departments, and cultural relics bureaus of 13 provinces (districts, cities) along the Yangtze River attended the meeting. The construction of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park was officially launched at the end of 2021, with a comprehensive consideration of the Yangtze River mainstream region and the Yangtze River Economic Belt region, involving 13 provinces (regions, cities) such as Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Jiangxi. As another major cultural project after the Great Wall National Cultural Park, Grand Canal National Cultural Park, Long March National Cultural Park, and Yellow River National Cultural Park, the construction of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park revolves around the seven regional cultural landmarks of Qiang Tibetan culture, Bashu culture, Dianqian culture, Jingchu culture, Huxiang culture, Ganwan culture, and Wuyue culture, creating a harmonious and distinct and shining contrast. Taking a series of cultural relics and resources with prominent significance, significant influence, and major themes along the Yangtze River as the backbone, we will comprehensively promote five basic projects: protection and inheritance, research and excavation, environmental support, cultural and tourism integration, and digital reproduction. The meeting summarized the planning and construction work of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park and deployed the next stage of tasks. Du Jiang, a member of the Party Group and Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Du Jiang stated that since the start of the construction of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park, various work has been carried out in an orderly manner, the organizational mechanism has been continuously improved, the top-level design has been gradually improved, the project construction has been steadily advancing, and the social impact has continued to expand. The next step is to grasp the overall requirements for the construction of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park, protect the Yangtze River, an important symbol of the Chinese nation, and protect, inherit, and promote the Yangtze River culture. According to the requirements of the Implementation Plan for the Construction and Protection of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park, four types of main functional areas should be constructed and five major projects should be implemented. We must adhere to the six principles of prioritizing protection, strengthening inheritance, cultural guidance, highlighting characteristics, overall design, overall planning, active and stable reform and innovation, tailored to local conditions, classified guidance, and building and making good use of the Yangtze River National Cultural Park.
