Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Guangdong has placed green, low-carbon, energy-saving, and emission reduction in a prominent position. Energy utilization efficiency has significantly improved, and the intensity of carbon dioxide emissions has continued to decline. A large number of new business forms with low-carbon goals have emerged continuously. As one of the first low-carbon pilot provinces in China, during the 14th Five Year Plan period, Guangdong will also make greater efforts to promote the development of green energy and achieve the "dual carbon" goals. Entering the photovoltaic composite industrial park in Nanshan Town, Sanshui, Foshan, following the overall concept of photovoltaic+smart fishing, we utilize the method of generating electricity above photovoltaic panels and conducting fish pond aquaculture below, driving a green ecological economy and assisting in increasing people's income and rural revitalization. It is reported that after the first phase is completed, the average annual power generation will exceed 300 million kilowatt hours, saving 96500 tons of standard coal annually, reducing approximately 263200 tons of carbon dioxide annually, and approximately 50.61 tons of sulfur dioxide. The development of photovoltaic technology is a vivid manifestation of the leapfrog development of green energy. In Guangdong, from the coast to the mountainous areas, rows of photovoltaic panels, wind turbines, and hydroelectric power stations are continuously delivering clean electricity. Data shows that in 2022, Guangdong added over 4.5 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power generation and 1.4 million kilowatts of offshore wind power. As of the end of 2022, Guangdong's offshore wind power installed capacity was 7.91 million kilowatts, accounting for 26% of the country's offshore wind power installed capacity. The biomass power generation installed capacity was 4.23 million kilowatts, ranking first in the country. At the same time, in recent years, the technological level of the energy storage industry in Guangdong Province has been continuously improving, and the overall level of technology research and equipment manufacturing ranks among the top in the country. Guangzhou Petrochemical has built the first high-purity hydrogen production base in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Since its production at the end of 2020, it has supplied a total of 1100.5 tons of high-purity hydrogen to the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, filling over 1300 tube cars with high-purity hydrogen, and assisting in the development of the hydrogen energy industry in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. In Dongguan, research institutions are targeting the "bottleneck" link of domestic fuel cells and exploring new directions for the application of energy storage industry. Promoting the development of green finance is an important measure to achieve the "dual carbon" goal. Since 2010, the Guangzhou Shenzhen Carbon Exchange has been established one after another, and the Guangdong carbon trading market has officially started. With the establishment and improvement of the carbon market in Guangdong, more and more industries have joined the financial innovation based on carbon emission trading, and the ocean carbon sink, known as "blue carbon", is one of them. On September 26th, the first national mangrove conservation carbon sink auction was successfully auctioned in Shenzhen, with a price of 485 yuan per ton of blue carbon, setting a new historical high. This means that Guangdong's carbon sink trading exploration is further advanced. Nowadays, Guangdong continues to lead the way in atmospheric environmental quality, and has achieved historic breakthroughs in water environmental quality. In 2022, the overall air quality in the province is excellent, with the water quality excellent rate of 149 national examination sections increasing to 92.6%, and the inferior Class V national examination sections being completely cleared.
